We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. Appointments can be booked by telephoning the surgery to arrange a convenient time and date, or online (there is one on line appointment available per GP clinic). All appointments are 10 to 15 minute slots per person unless your treatment requires more time. Our receptionists may ask you some specific questions related to your problem in order to book the correct type of appointment with the correct medical professional and time required.
Routine clinical appointments
Our aim is to offer you a routine appointment within 2 working days, although this is not always possible. The demand on Primary Care has increased considerably in the last year and it would not be unusual for you to to wait 1- 2 week to see your registered GP for a Routine appointment. You can also book a telephone consultation if you are unable to attend the surgery in person.
We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor. We are a small Practice and have 2 GP Partners.
Emergency or same day appointments
If the problem is more urgent (but not life threatening) please make this clear to the receptionist. You may be asked for some details, please do not feel offended, this is routine information and important for us to know why you want to be seen so that we can book you in with the most appropriate clinician as soon as is possible. The Doctor will need to know to prioritise your appointment or call.
Home visits
If you are too ill to come to the surgery and you require a visit at home, please call the surgery before 10am. Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen.
Please do not expect to be seen immediately at home by the doctor as they will have their morning surgery and other home visits to attend.
