Carer support
If you are a carer looking after someone who is ill, frail, disabled or mentally ill and we would like to support you.
No matter how much you love the person you are looking after, caring can be a lonely and stressful experience, which can effect your health. You may feel a little low, have aches and pains from providing extra help, or be exhausted and therefore more susceptible to infections. You may not have time to care for yourself. So if you feel that we could help by giving you a check up or putting you in touch with a Carer Support Worker please make an appointment with your GP, or complete a form from the carer’s notice board in reception and someone will contact you.
The carers notice board is kept up to date with useful information and contact groups.
To contact the Somerset Carer Support Workers direct phone 0800 31 68 600 or email [email protected] or visit the Somerset Carer Support website.
Carers Support is currently being re-branded as Thrive but the support number remains the same

Spark Somerset
We work in partnership with the Somerset Carers Support to make it even easier for unpaid carers in Somerset to access support and information.
Whilst caring for someone is very rewarding, it can also be challenging at times, so we hold an online meetings to give unpaid carers the chance to connect with other people who are in similar circumstances and really understand.
